The twelve constellations in this set of postcards are familiar to us all, even if we have certainly never seen many of them in the night sky with our own eyes: they are the constellations that lie along the ecliptic, the plane on which the sun and planets appear to move around the earth. As they mainly represent animals, they are known as the zodiac.
