Handmade and hammered copper rod with plastic caps at the ends.

The copper rod was developed for eurythmy movement exercises. It supports in an excellent way the awareness and thus the possible correction of movement sequences. As a companion in eurythmy therapy, it promotes body perception and thus ensures a harmonisation of the body movements.

Note on the surface: The surfaces are not treated with varnish or similar so that the effect is not negatively influenced. The natural oxidation of the copper causes a change in the colour (brown and black tones) of the surface. With a simple polish, the surface can be made shiny again if necessary. The pure copper has an antibacterial effect.

Rod exercises with the eurythmy rod

With the eurythmy rod, rod exercises can give us the opportunity to train ourselves, our own form in the broader sense, to become a permeable instrument, a means of expression.

The exercises enable us to become aware of our own body and to develop a certain tension in the control and conscious guidance of the staff.

The body becomes more supple and an experience of the direction of space and at the same time the sensation of being placed in a space is experienced.

Through staff exercises, forces and energies can be activated and strengthened according to their own laws. The resistance that the staff or the ball gives us is important for body perception.

Working with a eurythmy rod or a eurythmy ball activates the sense of touch, the sense of touch is a sense of self-awareness: we feel ourselves! At the boundary between the object and ourselves, we become more aware of our own body.

Copper has a strong affinity with warmth and thus facilitates our contact with the object we are using.
