Shadow cot

A very special nativity scene that only shows its full beauty in the dark. During the day, grazing sheep under pine trees can be seen in the foreground, 3 sheep and an ox in the background. When the light is lit and darkness falls, a shining star and the Holy Family with the shepherds appear.

Through a precisely crafted silhouette inside, the glow of the tea light falls on the back of the cot and projects it onto the open space of the alder wood vault.

The shadow cot is made of alder wood and birch plywood. The alder parts are oiled.

The noble shadow cot is delivered in individual parts and can be assembled in a few steps with the enclosed instructions.

Included in the delivery is a tea light jar.

The company Decor-Spielzeug looks back on 60 years of company history.
In the third family generation, Decor manufactures special and high-quality wooden toys.

Decor-Spielzeug was founded in 1957 by Eberhart Schmidt in Kassel as a licensed company of Decor in Dornach (Switzerland). Decor was the first company to operate a "workshop for people with disabilities" in the vicinity of Kassel. Decor produces educational wooden toys in an artistic and craftsmanlike manner. Since 2016, Decor has been operating out of the Wendland region. Production takes place in its own workshop on site. In recent years, the focus has been on the technical further development of the production processes. In the meantime, Decor consists of a stable core team of 5 people who jointly organise production, sales and the coordination of suppliers. Decor wooden toys are characterised by a love of toys. Only local woods are processed. Great importance is attached to ecological processing and sensible recycling of leftovers. Depending on the product, the surface treatment is carried out with hot wax or oils and wood varnish.
