Habitat & Facts

The Stegosaurus dinosaur was an armoured animal.It was a very large dinosaur with a sophisticated spine with unique plates and bones.The Stegosaurus was really big and very heavily built.He had short forelimbs, a round back and long hind limbs.It could reach a length of up to 30 feet and a weight of 5.3-7 tonnes.Despite its size, the Stegosaurus had a brain as small as that of a dog.The Stegosaurus had swollen cheeks, which enabled it to eat a lot and store excess food.For this reason, it was able to store food in its body for longer than any other dinosaur.The Stegosaurus had a short neck and a relatively small head.It fed on cycads, conifers, fallen fruit, mosses, horsetails and ferns.

How is a wooden animal made at Wudimals®?

1. Decide which animal you want to make.
2. Decide in which pose the wooden animal is to be depicted according to the criteria of what looks realistic, what can be carved and how the grain of the wood matches.
3. Creation of design sketches that look as similar as possible to the real animal.
4. Carving the animal in such a way that the grain of the wood harmonises with the shape of the wooden animal.
5. Painting, as true to the model of the real animal as possible.
6. Testing in an independent test laboratory.
7. Once all the steps have been completed, the animal is produced in large quantities from sustainable wood.
